Factors attributed to violent behaviour by primary caregivers toward their relative with schizophrenia

Introduction There is a modest but consistent association between violent behavior and schizophrenia. Persons with schizophrenia are at modestly increased risk of committing violence ,with approximately half victims being relatives Objectives Our study examined the factors attributed to behaviour within relationship patient-caregiver in according caregivers. Methods This cross-sectional among caregivers patients during period from June August 2022.Patients who attended our department psychiatry Razi. The questionnaire was divided into three sections. first section contained items regarding patient- caregiver-related information. In second section, were asked questions about their experience perpetration victimization involving relative past 12 months. Beyond frequency, also specify, causes perpetrated suffered third two measures, i.e. Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21) abridged version Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI), assessing psychological distress caregiving burden, respectively. protocol approved by ethics committee Razi Psychiatric Hospital.
